Khandallah
A collaboration with the owners led to the development of a concept: a courtyard and a new drive. The backfill against the house was excavated, and the concrete wall was sealed and fitted with drains. Gas services were also laid, and existing water pipes were repositioned. Exposed aggregate concrete mixes were selected for the courtyard and the driveway. The timber planter was also stained and filled with a topsoil/compost mix.
Island Bay
For this project, the task was to clear the current backyard and create new terraced levels in order to facilitate movement around the area. We needed to build engineered retaining walls at the rear of the house to support a sizable existing crib wall and create a foundation for the neighbour’s shed. Finally, we added some turf and planted new greenery to complete the job.
Brooklyn
This project involved the demolition of an existing small deck and the replacement with a cantilevered deck structure supported by a new concrete block wall and timber piles. All fastenings are in stainless steel to ensure the structures long-term durability.
Whitby
As part of this project, we renovated the landscape to address surface ponding issues that were causing damp-related problems. We also used Panelrok fencing to ensure a seamless match with the house’s textures and style.
Karori
Here we needed to level off an existing sloping lawn and form areas suitable for al fresco dining and supervised play.
